Show Notes

Several scriptures seem to be unclear concerning the death of men such as Elijah, and have been misconstrued to indicate that the dead are alive in heaven or hell. However, none of these scriptures actually say that. We need to consider the greater context of Scripture, as well as Hebrew grammar, to properly understand that those who have died are in the grave awaiting one of the resurrections.

Verses: Gen. 5:18-24; Heb. 11:4, 5, 7-8, 11, 13; John 3:13; Jude 14-15; 1 Sam. 28:3-20; Deut. 18:9-15; 2 Kings 2:11, 15-17; Matt. 10:16-17, 24-28; 17:1-3; 9; Acts 4:32; 1 Pet. 2:11; Luke 9:30-31
